The Houston Rockets new head coach Mike D'Antoni announced on Monday during the Rockets training camp that star shooting guard James Harden would be the rockets full time point guard. Harden averaged the most assists for a shooting guard last year with a average of 7.5 being the best scorer and play maker for the Houston Rockets. Despite D'Antoni putting extra work load on Harden, the Rockets insured that Harden will not move positions and remain a shooting guard.
This is one of the first of many moves that most rockets fans should expect from new coach Mike D'Antoni who is known for his complex offense especially in his years for the Phoenix Suns. This should not affect the rockets rotation unless they decide to start newly acquired Eric Gordon and bench Patrick Beverly. The offense however will mainly be run through Harden like it was last year but more efficient to cut the offensive load on Harden with new players like Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon.
