The Houston Rockets newly acquired point guard Tyler Ennis has impressed the Rockets during training camp. Ennis was traded from the Milwaukee Bucks for the Houston Rockets breakout forward Michael Beasley on September 22nd. Ennis was a former 18th overall pick for the Phoenix suns in the 2014 NBA Draft but was traded to the Bucks in the three team trade that landed Isaiah Thomas in Boston, Brandon Knight in Phoenix, and former rookie of the year Michael Carter-William to the Bucks. Ennis was a star for the Syracuse Orange men where he averaged 12.9 points per game, 5.5 assists per game, and 2.1 steals per game earning him 2nd team all ACC and 1st team all freshman ACC.

Ennis was drafted to the suns who at the time were stacked with three star point guards and saw barley any playing time on the court. last season he played 46 games and saw 14 minutes per game off the bench but averaged only about 4 points per game. Ennis hasn't shown his true potential as a crafty play making point guard like he was in Syracuse.

During his first five days with the rockets he has already set a good impression on new head coach Mike D'Antoni. "Good, real good. Smart," D'Antoni said. "Like every other coach that had him, you just say, 'He's a ballplayer. He knows how to play.' I think he's kind of hitting his stride. He's the (18th) pick. I think now he's starting to feel his way around the NBA. He's got his body right. I'm expecting good things out of him." He will likely see opportunity to show his true potential with the rockets as a likley 2nd string guard behind Patrick Beverly
