The last time 2-1 Texas played they gave up 50 points, 396 passing yards, and 110 rushing yards versus the Golden Bears. They had a bye week to evaluate and fix their problems, but if Texas repeats their horrendous defensive performance against 2-2 Oklahoma State who is averaging 39 points per game and 324 passing yards per game then it's gonna be a long day for Longhorn fans. With that said Texas fans should not be worried because they have one of the best and youngest offenses in the league led by true freshman QB Shane Buechele. Texas's fast paced offense is averaging 45 points per game, 240 passing yards per game, and 238 rushing yards per game. This game is going to be a high scoring battle between two teams with fast paced offenses and questionable defenses.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys have let their opponents score about 28 points with 2 of those opponents being Central Michigan who scored 30 on the Cowboys and Pitt who scored 38. The Cowboys defense looks better statistically but when you see who they played it isn't so amazing. On the other hand Texas defense is looking atrocious letting Notre Dame score 47 and Cal score 50. The key for Texas to win is to force turnovers and attack the Cowboys on the ground. I predict a final score of 42-31 with Texas coming out on top in Stillwater for the 9th straight year (the last time the Cowboys won in Stillwater was in 1997).
